Military records and PI records show FHS' birthdate as 1868.

Frank H. Stagner AKA birth name William Everette (Rhett) b. 1871. Census records later show WE/FHS listed as William E. Sharp, as step-son of A. Sharp

Mother: Sarah Abigail Paine b. 1838, in Kentucky; Andrew Joseph Hall, (1st hb); Robert Rhett (2nd hb); Anthony Sharp (3rd and final hb)

Half-sister: Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" J. Stagner

Father: Robert Rhett . . . R. Rhett and widow Mrs. Sarah Hall married in 1870

Side note: Frank was named William Everette by his mother Sarah, and his name change to FHS had to do with circumstances involving brother-in-law, W. G. "Bill" Stagner, a rancher & miner, and FHS' half-sister Betty Stagner, family whom "Willy," as he was known in the Missouri Valley, went to live with, in the mining country of Idaho, after his mother, Sarah, passed away of a stroke in 1886. Moreover, Bill and Betty had an only son named Franky who passed away at around the age of one to two years old. W.G. and Betty Stagner legally adopted Willy. Hence, the name change and U.S. Army enlistment name, Frank H. Stagner.
