Born on October 8, 1968 in Providence, RI, he was the beloved son of Beatrice M. (Murphy) Nelson of Plainville, MA, and the late Howard "Howie" Franklin Nelson, who died on July 24, 2016.
A graduate of King Philip Regional High School, Class of 1986, he worked as a Machinist for his family's business, TDR Company, Inc., in South Attleboro, MA.
A resident of Seekonk since 2001, he previously lived in North Attleboro, MA.
Dean was a generous, caring, and thoughtful man who always put the needs of others before his own and would always lend a helping hand. He loved woodworking, building things, renovating, and simply working around his home. Dean enjoyed music and was a skilled pianist who was also teaching himself to play the guitar.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving siblings: Debra N. (Nelson) Tomes and her husband, Kenneth R. Tomes, of Plainville, MA; David W. Nelson and his wife, Karen (Izzo) Nelson, of Attleboro, MA; Dawn M. (Nelson) Poillucci of North Attleboro, MA; and Diane L. (Nelson) Breard and her husband, Steven P. Breard, of AZ. Dean was the brother of the late Daniel H. Nelson who died in September 1998. He leaves two dear nieces and seven nephews, his aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Dean by gathering for a Visitation in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service with Pastor Dan Crichton of Grace Bible Church, Cranston, RI, officiating.
Burial services will immediately follow in Shepardville Cemetery, Plainville, MA, at which time Dean will be laid to rest alongside his late father and brother.
