Vera Mae Gibson, 88, formerly of Corinth Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Mary Black Health System- Gaffney.
Born in Kings Mountain, N.C., she was the widow of the late James Henry Gibson and daughter of the late McKinley Moore and Annie Bates Moore and reared by her late stepmother, Carmie Self Moore.
She retired from textiles and was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Larry Gibson of Gaffney, S.C.; three daughters, Charlene Duncan and husband, John, Rebecca Bratton, both of Gaffney and Faye Greene and husband, Clyde, of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three bothers, Carl Moore, W. C. Moore and Larry Moore and a sister, Georgia.
Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at El Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Melton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Peachtree Centre, “Unit 2 Activity Fund”, 1434 N. Limestone Street, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
The family will be at their respective homes.
