Evelyn T. (Leaman) Burgess, age 79, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Evelyn was born in Quincy, January 5, 1937, to the late William R. and Julia (Nevulas) Leaman. She was raised and educated in Quincy and had lived in Braintree for fifty years. She had been employed as an assembler for the Haemonetics Corporation of Braintree for twenty years. Evelyn was a New England Patriots fan and enjoyed traveling. She was devoted to her family and especially to her cherished grandchildren. Beloved wife of the late Arthur A. Burgess, she was the devoted mother of Renee B. Raymond and her husband David of Venice, California, Mark A. Burgess and his wife Rachel of Braintree and the late John G. Burgess; loving grandmother of Stella Raymond, Dillon Grace Raymond and Olivia Burgess; longtime companion of the late Ernest Darling. One of eleven siblings, Evelyn was sister of Geraldine Kelly, Arlene Fleming both of Florida, Ronald Leaman of Quincy and James Stewart of Braintree. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree, on Monday, December 12, at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment Braintree Cemetery. At the request of the family, visiting hours have been omitted.
