Virginia was well respected by members of the community and those she worked with. She loved working with children and dedicated her life to a career that involved educating children. She started out working as an aide in Head Start and worked her way up to becoming a Head Start teacher. She also worked at SLV BOCES in various positions working with children with special needs. Virginia was the proud recipient of the “Hispanic Salute” award celebrating the accomplishment of Hispanics in the community under the category of Education in 2016.
Virginia seemed to have a way about her that made people comfortable sharing with her, whether it be family, friends or strangers. She could carry on a conversation with anyone she met with understanding and empathy.
Virginia is survived by her daughters Robin Valle (Steven), Carrie Trujillo (Julian), Crystal Valle (Jared) and grandchildren Bryttani Acker, Danielle Martinez, Tre Valle, Darian Trujillo and Olivia Goddard, sisters Maria H. (Gilbert) Martinez and Lucy (Don) Madrid, and many nephews and nieces (all the Tinkers). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jose A. Valle, parents Toby and Ernestine Baca, brothers Jake Baca, Toby Baca, Leroy Baca and sisters Valerie Atencio and Pricilla Lucero.
The memorial service for Virginia will be held at the Pioneer United Church in Del Norte, Colorado at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
