He was affectionately known as “Cookie” to his friends.
He was born on December 6, 1951 in Little Falls, NY, a son of the late Stewart J. and Lennetta (Wick) Cook.
He was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and went on to attend Fulton Montgomery Community College. Ultimately he was the recipient of a Bachelor of Science Degree.
He served our country in the United States Army during the 1970’s namely in German and Belgium. He was employed through the years with the United States Navy out of Saratoga Springs, NY. He worked there as a civilian employee, Emergency Dispatcher.
He also worked at the New York State Department of Health, served as a United States Postal Service Rural Carrier, Cooperstown, NY, and assisted with Army computer services at Fort Drum, NY. Scott just loved history in general.
He was a member of the Morris J. Edwards St. Johnsville American Legion Post #168, was a former scout master in the Village, and served as a volunteer at Mid-County Ambulance. From 2014 until 2017 Scott served the community of St. Johnsville as Village Court Justice. Consequently, he was a member of the New York State Magistrates Association.
Survivors include his two sons, Robert W. Cook (Danielle), St. Johnsville, NY and Theodore J. Cook, Fonda, NY; his brother and sister-in-law, S. James Cook and his wife Linda of Mays Landing, New Jersey and his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry Harris and her husband Bruce of Harleysville, PA; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment will follow in St. Johnsville Cemetery, with the honor of full military representation.
