Graveside service for SFC (Retired) Curtis A. Price will be at 11:00 am Thursday, October 26, 2017 in the Cache Cemetery with Chaplain Roger Snow, Lawton officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Curtis A. Price, 89, formerly of Cache, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center. He was born October 6, 1928 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to William Asa and Mary Charlotte (Glasgow) Price. He retired from the US Army on March 31, 1969 at Fort Sill. After retirement he went to work for Curtis Oil Co. in Lawton as a truck driver. After a brief time at Curtis Oil he went to work civil service at Fort Sill in the maintenance and grounds division, where he oversaw the Old Post Quadrangle and the Commanding Generals quarters. He retired again from civil service where he could finally spend time with his family. He and Lillian owned and operated a ceramic shop in Cache from 1974 until 1980. Together they enjoyed buying and remodeling houses, enjoyed their plants and yard work, and Lillian even taught him to embroider and do quilting. Curtis was a loving son, husband, brother, father and grandfather who’s greatest moments were spending time with his family, children and grandchildren, taking trips, celebrating Holidays and eating his favorite foods. While at the Veteran’s Center he loved to fellowship and play dominos with the other residents. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother William A. Price of Oklahoma City, 2 children, Linda Willcox and husband Dennis of Cache, Leslie Blake of Cache, 3 grandchildren, Thomas Willcox and wife Lena of Cache, Kelly Willcox and wife Shannon of Cache, Michelle Hoffman and husband Kirk of Alexander, AR, 8 great grandchildren, Jordan Mihecoby and husband Tom of Fletcher, Devon Willcox and wife Samantha of San Antonio, TX, Kade Willcox of Cache, Tanner Willcox of Sterling, Kauy Willcox of Cache, Madelyn Hoffman of Alexander, AR, Andee Willcox of Cache, Nicholas Hoffman of Alexander, AR and nieces and nephews, Margaret Ellmon, Jerry Price, Nora Neunilst, Leon Price, Lyndle Price, Mary Speed and Judy Flemming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother Leonard Price.
