Shane Harris, 46, of Altoona, passed away on October 17, 2017 at his home in Altoona. Private family services will be held. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund has been established, memorials may be directed to Laurie Harris.

Shane Eldon Harris was born on October 11, 1971 in Hampton, Iowa to Bruce and Sandy (Hackbarth) Harris. He was baptized and confirmed at the Morgan United Methodist Church in rural Dows. Shane graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1990 and then from the University of Northern Iowa in 1995 with a Bachelors Degree in Automated Manufacturing and Design. In 1993, Shane was united in marriage to Laurie England. Shane enjoyed watching his sons play soccer and going camping with friends. He was an avid Star Trek fan and was very particular about his lawn.

Shane is survived by his parents Bruce and Sandy of Iowa Falls, wife Laurie and their two sons Spencer and Lucas of Altoona, sister Shelby (Chuck) Harris Phippen of Exira and his mother-in-law Cleo England of Iowa Falls.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dale and Irene Hackbarth and Emory and Phyllis Harris and his father-in-law Robert England.
