William Sherman Riddle, 79, of Mooresville, passed away on October 21, 2017. Sherman Riddle was born July 26, 1938, in Burkesville, Kentucky, to the late Culbert “CC” and Elizabeth (Groce) Riddle. He resided in Morgan County since 1967.

Sherman worked for 25 years as maintenance man for General Shale. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as gardening, fishing, raising animals, and woodworking. He was also an animal lover. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Sherman will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Doug Riddle and sisters, Cleo Miller, Sarah Coop, Lucy Rouse, Bell Melton, Hettie Rush; and brother, Leo Riddle

Survivors include his wife, April (Hillman) Riddle, to whom he was united in marriage November 14, 1998; sons, William Riddle, Sherman Riddle, David Riddle, Chris Riddle, Tony Riddle; daughters, JoAnn Morris, Debbie Webb, Sandy DeLancey, and Sharon Thomas; step children, Beth Ann Wiggins, Cathy Jo Reeves, James Charles “JC” Worley and Charles and Jason Fulton; brother, Gene Riddle; sisters, Maxie Kingrey, Nina Birge, Mary Crumpton, Knoxie Coffee, 18 grandchildren; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 26, 2017, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling from 11 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will be at Nebo Memorial Park, Martinsville, 10 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2017.
