Henderson, TN: Joan Ruth Rhodes age 66 passed away October 23, 2017 at Methodist LeBonheur Hospital Germantown.
She was born June 8, 1951 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Babe and Jean Clayton Ruth. She was married to Larry Rhodes August 7, 1971. They made their home in Chester County. Joan had worked in food service most of her life. She worked at Chester County Sportswear, Catfish Galley, Western Sizzlin South and for the past twenty-four years with Snookums Beefhouse in Henderson. She was a member of the Pinson Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Henderson, where she and her husband pastored.
Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her husband, Larry Rhodes of Henderson; two children, Michael Rhodes and wife Sherri and Angie Rhodes and fiancé, Michael Morrison; grandchildren, Tristan Rhodes, Trianna Sikes, Tailynn Morrison, Ethan Rhodes, Emma Rhodes and Tristan Leverett; two sisters, Linda Swafford and husband Glen of Jacks Creek and Jeanette Meek of Henderson and her step mother, Pat Ruth and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Janice Hopper in 1973, Betty Maness in 2008 and Judy Ruth in 2011.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, at the Springs Pentecostal Church at Pinson. Burial will follow in Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Johnson Chapel beginning at 3:00 PM on Wednesday and 9:00 AM at the Church Thursday.
