Elva was a lifelong resident and attended local schools. On March 3, 1956, she married Eugene 'Gene' A. Greene, Sr., in the Old Tuscarora Baptist Church. Mr. Greene predeceased her on February 26, 2011. Elva was employed in the food service department of Niagara Wheatfield School District for many years. She was an active volunteer for the 4H Cooperative Extension, as well as for various events held on the Tuscarora Nation. She was also a member of the 'CB' Club and Van Club. Elva was an avid bowler and participated in various local bowling leagues. She was also an outstanding seamstress, and in her leisure time, enjoyed bead work, gardening, canning foods, traveling and camping with her family.
Mrs. Greene is survived by one daughter, Evelyn 'Effie' (Manny Yellow) Asay, her son Elwyn 'George' (Anita) Greene, and was predeceased by one son Eugene 'Tweedy' Greene, Jr. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian (Courtney) Greene, Sarah Greene, Rae'chelle (Joe West) Greene, Hunter Greene, Misty Doherty, Austin Asay, Taylor 'TJ' Asay and Erin (Jim) Chapman, thirteen great-grandchildren, five sisters, Marlene (late Erwin) Printup, Nora (late Russell) Walters, Sharon (Richard) Harkness, Noreen (late Charles) Reese, Donna (late Jim) Seaman and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by eight siblings, Dr. Joseph (Patricia) Jacobs, Marilyn Kirkland, Anthony Jacobs, Ellwood "Gene" Jacobs, Doris (late Harrison) Printup, Marial (late Everett) Hewitt, Virginia (late Harold) Duck and Donald (late Barbara) Bradley.
