MICHAEL J. DINNEEN

The following account of the death of Michael Dinneen is taken from a Sioux Falls newspaper.

"Michael Dinneen died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon of tetanus, following an attack of blood poisoning. Mr. Dinneen was for sometime connected with the Morrell Packing Co. of this city, and some weeks ago he had the misfortune to injure his hand in machinery. The attending physicians apprehended no trouble until a few days ago, blood poisoning developed and Dinneen was taken to the hospital where tetanus and death resulted.

Dinneen was about 40 years of age. He was a hard working industrious man. He leaves behind a wife and two small children. His brother, D. J. Dinneen and brother-in-law, S. S. Barry, accompanied the body to Melrose, arriving on No. 4 Thursday, and was taken to the Ford home."

Michael J. Dinneen was born near Melrose, Iowa, March 4, 1880 and died at Sioux Falls, So. Dak., Nov. 11, 1919. He was married to Miss Alice Ford, March 7, 1916 at Melrose, Iowa, Rev. Father McCormick officiating. To this union two children were born, Margaret, born in 1917, and Michael, born in 1918, who with their mother mourn his great loss.

The funeral was held Friday morning from St. Patrick's church. Rev. Father McCormick celebrated the Requiem High Mass and pronounced the final absolution. He spoke kind words of the deceased and consolation to the bereaved ones. The funeral was attended by many former friends and neighbors who held the deceased in the highest regard. Interment was made in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

The pallbearers were Andrew Donaline, James Conway, Roy Day, Edward Murray, Thomas O'Hara and William Barry.
