Montesano resident Carol Jean Baldwin passed away at Grays Harbor Community Hospital Friday evening, on October 13th, 2017. She was almost 80 years old. Carol was born on November 17th, 1937 to Fenton and Lila Russell (Stephens) and was raised in Emmett, Idaho. She also lived in the areas of the Idaho Panhandle, Eastern Oregon, and Grays Harbor. Carol worked for 22 years at the Bee-Hive Restaurant in Montesano as a waitress and for the Shilo Inn of Ocean Shores for 11 years as a bus person until she retired in 2017. Carol was a member of the Culinary Alliance and Bartenders (Local #791) for 35 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed music, dancing in her younger years, and especially trips to Westport when not working to talk to people, breathe the crisp ocean air, and watch the waves. She loved hummingbirds and her favorite color was blue. Carol is survived by her sons Everett Baldwin of Aberdeen, Kenneth Baldwin of Portland, Oregon, David Baldwin of Newberg, Oregon; daughters Judy Birdsong of Plumas Lake, California, and Rita Newell of Knoxville, Tennessee; brothers Howard Russell of Emmett, Idaho and Jim Russell of Kuna, Idaho; sisters Bonnie Smith of Fair Oaks, California and Beverly Heitz of Emmett, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Fenton and Lila; brothers Bill Russell, Larry Russell, Ralph Russell, and William 'Bill' Russell; and sister Ruby Burlile.
There will be a graveside service at Riverside (Emmett) Cemetery in Emmett, Idaho where Carol will be placed with her family.
