Deloris R. Young went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2017. She was born to Christina Jackson on April 13, 1937 in Norfolk County. She was married to Crenshaw Young for over 52 years and the mother of seven children. She was known for her fashion flair, especially for her love of rings and Church Lady Hats.
Deloris was a former member of Fourth Baptist Church where as a youth she was a part of the Singing for Joy Group and later became a member of the Senior Choir. She joined her husband, Crenshaw at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church over 35 years ago and served on the Relief Ministry until her health declined.
Deloris was a loyal and dedicated employee at the Star Band Factory for over 25 years and worked also at the Virga's Pizza Company for over 19 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Timothy, her daughter Pamela, a sister Regina Williams and a brother Willie Brown Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Irma Scales{William) of Portsmouth, VA; Lillian P. Clements of San Diego, VA; one brother Raymond Brown(Doretha) of Landham, MD; two daughters, Angela McGee of Portsmouth, VA, Beverly Whitley of Stephens City, VA; three sons, Crenshaw Avery Young of Portsmouth, VA, Phillip Young of VA Beach, VA, David Young of Woodbridge, VA; five grandchildren; one great grand and a host of other relatives and friends. She had a special love for her baby Austin Whitley and her church buddy Mrs. Leola Veal and neighbors the Lambs and the Loftons.
