He graduated from AZ State Teachers College and served his country as a Naval Aviator in WWII. He grew up in Bisbee, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie and brother Leland McPherson. Survivors include his daughters: Karen McCombs and Jan Marince, son: David McPherson, sister: Genevieve Hardison and 5 grandchildren.
