CARROLL, Deborah Jane Howland 6/7/1938 - 8/27/2016 died August 27, 2016 from a subdural hematoma and respiratory failure.

Her husband, Harry R. Carroll preceded her in death.

Debbie retired as Registrar, Monterey Peninsula College, Monterey, California.

She attended Wellesley College (class of 1959) and earned her M.A. from Springfield College, Springfield, Massachusetts.

Among her many memberships were every major museum in Tucson, Arizona Pathfinders and the Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society. Debbie was a long-time volunteer with Friends of the Pima County Public Library (and prior to that, the Arizona State Museum Library) and with the Tumacácori National Historical Park.

She was active with the Green Valley Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Steve McIntyre of Prescott, Arizona.

She will be buried in the Howland family plot in Bryantville, Massachusetts. At her request, no service will be held, but donations may be made to the scholarship fund she established to honor her husband, the Harry R. Carroll Scholarship Fund at Colby College, 4335 Mayflower Hill, Waterville, Maine 04901.
