Zena J. Kalsuga, 90, of Geddes, passed away Monday [May 16, 2016] at Loretto. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she lived in Geddes for more than 45 years and graduated from Central High School. Zena co-owned Top O' the Hill Restaurant for many years, retiring in 1990, and previously worked at Martin's Welcome Inn on Tully St. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the Sacred Heart Mother's Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Zena was predeceased by her husband, John, and son, Mark.
Surviving are her daughter, Marcia (Richard) Ferguson of Syracuse; grandchildren, John Ferguson and Mark Ferguson, both of Syracuse, and Lauren Powers of Farmington; brother, Martin "Sonny" (Sally) Kondziela of Camillus; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 12th floor at Loretto Cunningham and also the PACE CNY Program for their excellent care.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, May 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Thursday, May 19 at 11:15 a.m. from the funeral home and at noon in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Zena will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
