ELDER ODESSA EVALYN ELLISON TAYLOR – Age 81, - Of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Georgia with her family at her bedside. She was the daughter of the late Bishop Charlie Ellison, Sr. and Mother Inest Cameron Ellison, a retired Nurse, and a life member of Greater St. James Overcoming Church/ The New Harvest Church of Ministries. Those who preceded her in death are her brothers, Elder Dennis Ellison, and Willie Howard Ellison.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Henry Taylor; son, Dr. Bishop Nicky Paul (Elder Gale) Starling; grandchildren, Elder Melissa (Brian Keith) Parks, Elder LaTasha (Raymond) Love, Minister Nichole Hunt, Stacy (DeWayne) Bonds, Tracy (Edward) Brabson, Camishia Young, Kemon Watson, Keshun Taylor; fifteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; one brother, Charlie H. Ellison, Jr., a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. at The New Harvest Church of Ministries with her son, Dr. Bishop Nicky Paul Starling as the Eulogist and Dr. Jerry D. Jones, presiding. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday after 11:00 A. M. and at the church one hour before the service. Interment, West Hill Cemetery.
