Scott Alan Griffin of Palm Springs died at age 53 on October 16, 2017.

Scott was born December 4, 1963 to Robert and Elizabeth J. Griffin in Valley City, ND where he was raised. Scott graduated from Valley City High School in 1982. He attended one year of college at Valley City State University before transferring to North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. He graduated from NDSU in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts, Interior Design with a Business minor. Scott began his career working in art and design in Minneapolis. In 2004, Scott moved to Sun City West, AZ where he helped his father take care of his mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He continued to work in art and design in the Phoenix area. In 2009 Scott moved to Palm Springs, CA where he was employed at Erik's Furniture.

Scott had so many talents, but he was especially passionate about music. He was a gifted musician and loved both singing and playing piano. He played the piano for church while in high school, and went on to sing in a chorus everywhere he lived. He had such an eye for interior design and landscaping and he found joy and purpose in using that skill to help others. Scott will always be remembered for his loving, caring, and easy going attitude. He loved children, flowers, and animals (especially his cat Izzie). He loved life, and his family and friends made his life full. Because of his personality, he was easy to love.

Scott is survived by his father, Robert Griffin and his partner Jane Culp Woolley of Sun City West, AZ; three siblings, David and Lori Griffin of Bismarck, ND; Carol Griffin of Grand Rapids, MI; Doug and Connie Griffin of Mandan, ND; nephew Riley Griffin of Mandan, ND; niece Courtney Bosch of Bismarck, ND; niece Brandi and Dustin Schafer of Wilton, ND; niece Mikaela Neuenschwander of Bismarck, ND; nephew Anthony Kamstra of Minneapolis, MN; great niece Denali Neuenschwander of Bismarck, ND; great niece Emma Schafer of Wilton, ND and Izzie the cat.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth J. Griffin and grandparents Ray and Milda Griffin and Fred and Caroline Fandrich.

A memorial service will take place at 11 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Bismarck, ND. Memorial donations may be made to the Greenwood Cemetery Association for landscaping (Tower City, ND).
