MERIDIAN — Kathleen Woll Hawley, 81, of 605 E. Overland Road, Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1987, in a Boise hospital of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at the Meridian Fifth Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at Amity and Locust Grove roads. Bishop Robert Lasson will officiate, under direction of the Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise. Burial will be in Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise.
Mrs. Hawley, a homemaker, was born Aug. 28, 1905, at Union, Ore., a daughter of Peter and Casinell "Nellie" Lamb Woll. She was reared, and educated in Union. She married Lawrence Glenn Hawley on May 27, 1926, at Union. They were then married Aug. 31, 1956, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. They were the parents of two children, Laureen Glenna Hawley born in Twin Falls, and Richard Norman Hawley born in Nampa. Lawrence and Kathleen were owners-operators of Day & Nite Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Meridian and in Nampa for about 20 years.
She had been an active member of the LDS Church, and responded to a number of callings in the church including Primary teacher, Primary secretary, Sunday school teacher, MIA secretary, stake secretary, genealogy librarian for six years, worked in the Boise Temple in 1966, and served a mission at Nauvoo, Ill.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of Meridian; a daughter, Laureen Carter of Nampa; a brother, Ferrin Woll of LaGrande, Ore.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her parents, a son, Richard Norman Hawley, a sister and two brothers died earlier.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, and Monday from 9 a.m. until times of services at the Meridian Fifth Ward LDS Church.
