I suspect this is the wrong James Everett/Everitt. The one buried in 1889 was 63 years old (ref:FindMyPast image) so born in 1825 or 1826. An alternative is the James Everett who moved to Darwen, Lancashire, sometime between 1881 and 1890 when he married widow Lydia Entwistle. The age and the birthplace match in the 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses.
