Mr. Blake was a son of the late Ernest Edwin and May Carver Blake.
Mr. Blake grew up in Huntington, West Virginia and Paducah, Kentucky and joined the Air Force in 1955 and served at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1963, he became an electrician, and worked many years for Fogle Electric, until he retired in 1999, but continued to work as long as he could and was well respected throughout the city of Columbia for his talent and friendship to so many people.
He became a Mason in 1963 and he was a lifetime member of the Dentsville Masonic Lodge No. 398 AFM. He was also a longtime member of the Jamil Shrine Temple.
