"In the name of God amen.

I Jacob Rice of the County of Shelby and State of Kentucky being weak in boddy but sound disposing mind and memory do make constitute and publish this my last will and testament revoking all others.
First my just debts and personal expenses are to be paid out of the sale of a lott of ground in Coridon [Corydon] State of Indiana and so much of my personal estate as may be necessary for that purpose at the discretion of my executor.
Second I give to my beloved wife Polly Rice the full and uninterrupted [use] of my estate during her life or widowhood that is to say both real and personal estate for the purpose of raising and educating my children. Should she marry she is then to con___ her dower as prescribed by law and in that case the ballance of my estate is to be equally divided between my seven children here named Amanda Rice, Miriam Rice, Abraham Rice, William (H?) Rice, Matilda Rice, Isaac Rice, James Rice.
Third it is my will and desire that should any of my children marry that they should have as much money paid from my personal estate as can be best spared at the discrition of my executors to finish the house we now live in such __ase to make it convenient and comfortable."
Appoints Sam'l W. White Executor.
