Wanda Marie York Toler, 59, of Bean Station, TN. (formerly of Lenore, WV.) passed away Saturday, October 21st, surrounded by family and loved ones after a brief battle with cancer.

Wanda was a proud and faithful member of Bean Station Church of God. Everyone who knew her, knew her as a kind woman with a generous spirit. Wanda never met a stranger and her door was always open to anyone in need.

Wanda was employed by Mingo Co. Board of Education before retiring to Tennessee.

Born October 14th, 1958 to the late Quinn and Gladys Deskins.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husbands Eddie York and Teddy Toler, brother Quinn Deskins, Jr., and two infant siblings.

Wanda is survived by siblings Ethel Blevins, Mary Leide, Tee Deskins, Midge Arends, Russell Deskins, and Irene Mitura. She is also survived by her children: Tabby (Joey) Tackett of Chattaroy, WV, John York of Reynoldsburg, OH, Justin (Brenda) McCloud of Flowery Branch, GA, and Rev. Ed (Kristin) York of Bean Station, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren who were the light of her life: Morgan (Joe) Tackett-Crowe, Alexis McDonald, Faith York, Abigail Jones, Zayna McCloud, Mallori York, Judah York, and great-grandsons Joey Crowe and Johnny Crowe. She will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews whom she cared for very much.

In Tennessee, Wanda’s funeral service will be at Bean Station Church of God at 5:00 pm -7:00 pm on Monday, October 23rd with service at 7:00 pm. In West Virginia, the funeral service will be at Victory Christian Center in Lenore on Wednesday, October 25th at 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm with service at 3:00 pm. Reverend Ed York and Bishop Jerry Walden will preside over both services. Directly following, Wanda will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Gardens in Logan, WV.
