Charles Joseph Sterling Jr., 69, of Glen Burnie, passed away at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on October 1, 2017. He was born in Annapolis to Charles Joseph Sterling Sr. and the late Frances Geneva Forbes Sterling. He graduated from Annapolis High School and attended Anne Arundel Community College. He retired from the State of Maryland, tax division, as a Revenue Specialist III after 38 years of service. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges, Glen Burnie United Methodist Church and the church men’s group. CJ enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Solitaire and pool, oil painting, reading James Patterson novels, watching tv car shows and Chesapeake Antiques Auctions and playing jigsaw puzzles on his IPad. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha Geneva Arrowood, Nellie Elizabeth Sterling and Joseph Thomas Sterling.
CJ is survived by his wife, Carol Rosetta Sterling (nee Weatherly); father, Charles Joseph Sterling Sr.; aunt, Betty Jane Sterling; brother-in-law, Joseph Murray Weatherly; and sister-in-law, Bernadette Rose Marie Weatherly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4th, at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, 1 PM, at Glen Burnie United Methodist Church. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
