Shirley Eileen Lutz, 89, walked through heaven's gates on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017. She died peacefully and joined our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of her three children at her home in Montrose, Colo.
She was preceded in this journey by her husband of 45 years, George Lutz; and her parents, Otto and Cecile Newman.
She is survived by her three children, Roxie Stephenson, Martin Lutz and Kristina Gering; as well as her seven grandchildren.
Shirley was a longtime resident of Pueblo, Colo., where she served her community as an elementary school teacher and Sunday school teacher for First Church of the Nazarene.
A memorial celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene, 84 Stanford, Pueblo, Colo.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to HopeWest Hospice, 725 S. Fourth St., Montrose, CO 81401.
