Floyd Rogers, 86, of Grand Island died October 18, 2017, at the Grand Island Veterans Home.

Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Monday, October 23, 2017, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cairo.

Floyd was born January 6, 1931, to William and Pearl (Gilbert) Rogers in Loup City.

He graduated high school.

He was in the US Army from Aug 6, 1951 and honorably discharged on Jan 18, 1952.

He was at the VA Home since 1988. He helped push wheelchair bound residents around.

He saved his money and went on many bus trips.

He was a jokester. His phrase was..."Have you been good?" Often people would then ask it back to him, and his answer was always "NO".

He participated in the ceramics and crafts and was an avid Bingo player.

Floyd was preceded in death by two brothers: Gary and Franklin "Duane" Rogers; and two sisters: Ruth and Janita.
