Elizabeth "Liz" Alls, 87, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Beatrice Short; brother, Bernard Short Jr.; sister, Frances Hammond; two husbands, Sid Hansbrough and Donald Alls Sr; and a son, Shannon Hansbrough.
Mrs. Alls retired from Roanoke City Public Schools and was a longtime devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her son, Donnie (Ada) Alls; stepdaughter, Donna Kay (Rick) Alls; grandchildren, Justin Alls, Jessica Rae (Joseph), and Chris Milbauer; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Dallas, and Grayson Alls, Autumn, Jesse, Tristan and Sylvia Rae; sister and brother in law, Susan Short (Joe) Kinzie; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Phillip "J.P." (Marilyn) Short Sr., Larry Lynwood (Betty Jo) Short, and Max Alan (Linda) Short; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 4040 Williamson Road, Roanoke, VA 24012, or to Apple Ridge Farm, 173 Apple Ridge Farm Road NE, Copper Hill, VA 24079.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. Dr. James Davis. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
