Larry D. Hartwig, 42, formally of Monticello, Iowa, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Services: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family invites everyone to a gathering at the Center Junction Community Center following the service.

Larry was born in Anamosa, Iowa, on March 3, 1968, the son of Barbara (Eilers) Montag and Kenneth Hartwig. He grew up in Martelle, Iowa, and attended Urbana High School.

Larry was united in marriage to Sherry Forde on August 12, 1995.

He is survived by his parents, Barbara (Eilers) Montag and Kenneth (Dorothy) Hartwig; children, Jake and Brittney; brothers and sisters, Leroy (Deb) Hartwig, Harold (Julie) Hartwig, Beatrice (Curtis) Hochhalter, Karl Hartwig, Judi (Don) Bechthold, Joe (Brandy) Hartwig and Leon Hartwig; aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Ann; uncle, Edwin Eilers; paternal grandparents, William and Wilma Hartwig; maternal grandparents, Harold and Beatrice Eilers; and stepfather, Joseph Montag.
