Celebrated healer, medicine man, of Miwok tribe in the Great Sacramento Valley (Sacramento County), California.

A special tribute was given to Aleck Blue in 2013 and a memorial stone was dedicated at the Hicksville Cemetery off Arno Road in Galt. It read:

"The ancestral land given to Miwok Headman at this cemetery by Employer and friend Pio Valensin for the burial of himself and his lineal descendants is now recognized as rows 14 thru 18 of the Eastern side. Aleck Blue was well-known for his healing, his leadership as a medicine man, and for maintaining the traditional ways of the Miwok people."

His date of birth ranged from 1839 to 1857 (date on a document with the BIA). Each U.S. Census record between 1900 and 1930 has a different year of birth for Aleck Blue. He worked most of his life on the ranch of his friend Pio Valensin. He married twice, his first wife Bestia and after her passing, he married Lucy.

In 1900 U.S. Census listed with wife Lucy (age 40) and children Alice Rafael, Mary Rafael (his stepdaughters), and Felix Blue (age 6).

In the 1910 U.S. Census listed with wife Lucy and children Mary Blue, John Blue, and Felix Blue.

California Death Index gives year of birth as 1839 and date of death as 6/9/1934.
