Cheryl, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2017, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.

Visitation will be held October 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m. at O'Leary Celebration of Life Center in Norwalk, Iowa. A graveside service will be held Tuesday October 24th at 11 a.m. at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.

Cheryl White was born February 26th, 1941 to Shannon Lee and Pearl (Morris) Beck, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the only girl in a house of boys. She grew up alongside her brothers Lee, Fred, Jack, and Robert. Cheryl attended Des Moines schools and graduated from North High School.

After graduation she worked at Broadlawns Hospital as receptionist, which she did for twenty years.

She enjoyed her life in Des Moines. It was here she met her future husband, Charles White. They entered a long term relationship and then married in April of 1975.

Cheryl aimed for higher education. With Charles’ help, she attended and graduated from AIB College of Business. This allowed her to enter her career as a supervisor for the Lab of Clinical Medicine. Cheryl’s life wasn’t always work; she always made time for her family and her crafts.

An expert seamstress, she made clothing for her daughters, mother, and herself. She even made her daughter, Becky’s, wedding gown. Her list of talents grew through her life. She became highly skilled in knitting, crocheting, needle point, painting, and cross stitching.

Charles and Cheryl’s relationship grew closer through these crafts; he would make wood frames and wood figures she would want to paint. Their home, and the homes of their children are filled with hand crafted pieces of their love.

Cheryl, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2017, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.

Preceding her in death are her parents, and her brothers Lee, Fred, and Jack.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Charles White; her daughters Dawny Valadez and Becky (Jerry) Gossen; her grandchildren Rachel (Chris) Miller, Shannon (Chris) Wolver, Matthew Gossen, Leslie (Jason) Blakely, Shantae Simon; and three great-grandchildren.
