Mary Lucille Marshall Rice, 91, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Beacon Place in Greensboro.
A 12 p.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Summerfield with Dr. Richard Odom and Rev. Roger Barricks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
A native of Guilford County, Mrs. Rice was born on October 17, 1926, to the late W.E. and Annie Rumbley Marshall. She was a long standing member of First Baptist Church of Summerfield where she was active in the senior choir and senior travel. She also volunteered in the church kitchen as well as the nursery. Lucille worked as a CNA until the age of 89 and belong to the NC Grange. She was an avid crocheter and made prayer shawls and caps for premature infants.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by six brothers, James Marshall, Troy Marshall, Coy Marshall, Cary Marshall, Jay Marshall, and Normie Marshall; and two infant grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters Sandra Piccolo (Tim) of Surprise, Arizona and Tina Murphy of Summerfield; three sisters in law, Bobbie Marshall, Rebecca Holland, and Edna Marshall; and grandson, Mark Bolt of Tempe, Arizona.
