Lela Magee Rogers passed away at the age of 103, on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Covington, LA. A native and life long resident of St.Tammany Parish, she was born to Selina King Magee and Philip Magee on Saturday, October 3, 1914.

The beloved wife of the late Aswell J. Rogers, she is survived by two daughters - Rita R. Taylor and Iris R. Rumick; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter - Marilyn R. Galloway; her son - Gary E. Rogers two brothers - Wiley and Merton Magee; and two sisters - Klea Mae Keating and Bernice Bankston.

Ms. Lela loved cooking and crafts. For many years she helped cook and deliver meals for the sick in the community. She quilted for many years. She was gifted and accomplished. She loved shopping for new fabrics and attending craft shows with her friends. She was also a dedicated member of Shepherd's Fold and Shepherd's Care Ministries.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 12:00 Noon on Monday, October 23, 2017 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Monday will begin at 10:00 AM.

Interment at Barker-McManus Cemetery, 79407 Lee Road, Covington, LA, 70435 will immediately follow services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shepherd's Care Ministries, 20115 Highway 1081 Covington, LA 70435.
