Mary Jean Adlington, age 82, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at her residence, in Peoria, IL.

Mary was born on September 14, 1935, in Bloomington, IL., a daughter of Eugene and Isabelle (Vogel) Cleary. She married John E. Adlington on December 26, 1959 in El Paso, IL. They were happily married for 45 years before he passed away on May 4, 2005 in Quincy, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Cleary.

Mary is survived by three sons; Christopher (Ann) Adlington of New Lennox, Timothy (Lisa) Adlington of Brimfield, and Patrick (Debbie) Adlington of Metamora, nine grandchildren; Christopher, John, Emily, Nathan, Abby, Michael, Jack, Dominic, and Parker, two brothers; Dennis Cleary and Steve (Trish) Cleary both of El Paso and one brother-in-law, Floyd Koke of Havana.

Mary delighted in friends and family, especially her nine grandchildren. She enjoyed creative endeavors, decorating, crafts, and gardening. Her retirement gave her time for Florida and other travels.

Mary worked as a Registered Nurse at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for 42 years, taught nursing, and was a part of the parish nurse program. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 AM, Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights with a visitation starting at 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Father Thomas Taylor will officiate. Cremation Rites have been accorded and a private family burial of ashes will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
