Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home for Walter Melvin Beasley, 66, of Water Valley, who died on Monday, Oct. 16, in Water Valley. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rev. Cory Odom officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Colonial Funeral Home.
A native of Marion County, he was retired from the oilfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Annie Beasley; granddaughter, Raylin Wyscaver and 20 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Beasley; three daughters, Ann Kelly, Lisa Merrit and Dana Rogers; eight sons, E.M. Beasley, Adam Beasley, Benny Beasley, Joshua Beasley, Wayne Beasley, Cory Beasley, Troy Rogers, and James Berry; two sisters, Sherry Dennis and Wendy Amann; four brothers, Pascal Beasley, George Beasley, Michael Beasley and Wayne Beasley; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
