She married Lynn Gordon James May 9, 1953, Kensington, MD. They were blessed with 3 children, Julie Romaine, Janine Louise and Jeffrey Lynn, who were sealed to them for all time and eternity on June 1, 2002 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She passed through the veil of this life in Sandy, UT on Sunday, October 1, 2017. She lived in Wheeling, W. VA; Kensington, MD; Falls Church, VA; Culver City, CA; Wilmington, DE; Rio Piedras, PR; Atlanta, GA; Winston-Salem, NC; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Fernandina Beach, FL and Riverton, UT.

She was a 1978 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She rejoins Heavenly Father and thousands of her beloved ancestors and family members who predeceased her, and whose eternal sacred temple ordinances she was responsible for. She loved family history and though in this life she knew few, by the power of God’s priesthood, she shall know them in the afterlife of the eternal family.

She was an 11th generation descendant of John and Margaret Fearing of Hingham, MA. In 2005, she compiled the book entitled “Ancestors and Descendants of John Fearing 1612/1613-1665 of Hingham, Massachusetts”, which was 2 volumes and 1400 pages. This represented a life-long achievement of hers.

She retired from Remax Real Estate in South Florida in 1988 and was a founder of the Amelia Island Genealogical Society, Amelia Island, Florida. She was also a charter member of the Amelia Island Daughters of the American Revolution having served as the Historian, Registrar and Regent 1999-2001. She joyfully served as a church pianist/organist, teacher in Relief Society and Young Women’s president; and for 14 years worked in the Atlanta and Orlando LDS Temples. She and her husband left Florida and relocated to Utah in 2002 to serve missions at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.

She was predeceased by her daughter Julie. Survivors include her 2 sisters, Carolyn (Martin) McMurray and Sandra Lou Grant, children, Janine (Cary) Bate and Jeffrey (Kelly) James.
