Larry Dean Anthony

Mr. Larry Dean Anthony, age 65, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Larry was born the son of the late Boyce Anthony and Jessie Childers Anthony on December 20, 1951 in Shelby, NC. Larry was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church, where he had served as a former Deacon. He was a longtime employee of Drexel Heritage and a former Little League and Basketball coach for the Morganton Recreation Department. Larry was a humble and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, Larry is preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Those left behind to cherish Larry's memory include his beloved wife of 37 years, Penny Anthony of the home; two sons, Jamie Miller and Shannon Anthony (Mary), both of Morganton; a daughter, Jessica Anthony of Morganton; six grandchildren, Abigail and Olivia Miller, Saylor, Landon and Laurynn Anthony, and Ivy Steele; two brothers, Donald Anthony and Rickey Anthony (Vicky), both of Morganton; and three sisters, Ruby Bowman and Carolyn Coffey of Valdese, and Wanda Deal of Taylorsville. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home.
Cremated: Ashes to be buried with wife who passed away June 28th, 2019.
