Jack E. "Jackie" Barnes, 74, of Gilmer, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Longview. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park.

Jackie was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Jimmie and Leah McBee Barnes. He worked as a line supervisor for Upshur Rural Electric, retiring after 45 years. He was of the Baptist faith, and a member and past master of the Bethesda Masonic Lodge, #142 A.F + A.M in Gilmer. He was a member and past president of the East Texas Lazy 8’s, and past president of the Autumn Trails Model A Club.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Barnes; and a sister, Bonnie Loyd.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Ann (McKinley) Barnes, of Gilmer; son: Tony Barnes and wife, Adra, of Gilmer; grandchildren, Jerad Barnes and wife, Michele, and Alex Willis and husband, Michael; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford Barnes, of Gilmer, Don Barnes and wife, Maria, of Gilmer, and Jimmie Barnes, of Gilmer; sisters, Jane Hudson and husband, Gary, of Bossier City, LA., and Linda Teague and husband, Dwight, of Jasper; brother-in-law, Melvin Loyd, of Gilmer; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
