A funeral service for Billy Edward Carney, age 58, of Rusk is scheduled at 3 o’clock in the afternoon Saturday, October 21 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Bro. Mike Williams officiating. He will be laid to rest at McKnight Cemetery in Cushing.

Mr. Carney passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Billy was born September 21, 1959 in Ellisville, Mississippi.

He was a 1979 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas.

Billy was the owner of BJC Construction and a Reserve Policeman in Nacogdoches and Cherokee Counties.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Charles Carney.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jerrie Carney of Rusk; mother, Eva Carney of Rusk; children, Billy Wilson Carney, Alvin Leroy Carney and wife Courtney, and Christian Ann Carney, all of Rusk. He is also survived by siblings, Danny Carney Sr. and wife Darla of Anahuac, Janice Carney, Rudy Carney and wife Lupe, and James Carney, all of Jacksonville; and Raymond Avalos of Texas City. Grandchildren are Tatum, Aubrie, Tristan, Bryce, Lane, Jayce, Brady, Breanna, McKenna, Braxton, Brody, Ali and Leanna.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Carney, Christopher Carney, Randall Lee Riggins, Jr., Ruby Carney, Scott Dye, Jessie Traylor, Nick Miller and Coleman Davis.

Visitation will begin on Friday, October 20, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the Billy’s family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
