Mrs. Carpenter was born on July 4, 1926 in Brownsville, TN to Franklin C. and Ivie Taylor Edwards. She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, in Shreveport, LA. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, working in her flower beds and especially fishing on Toledo Bend Lake. Above all, she loved her God, her family and her friends. Her favorite sayings were, “I love you” and “whatever”. She loved what God created: sunsets, sunrises, changes of the seasons, camping and watching wildlife.
Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Mr. Donald Carpenter; her parents, and her brother, Franklin C. Edwards, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Ellen Knight; her children, Donald Daniel Carpenter, Jr., and wife, Jamie, Ivie (Janie) Carpenter Griffith, and husband, John, and William James Carpenter, and wife, Diana; grandchildren, Amy Pierrelee, and husband, Travis, Megan Ramos, and husband, Antonio, Kristen Shelton, and husband, Murphy, Jesse Basco, Melissa Vaitkus, and husband, Michael, Clay Carpenter, and wife, Lindsay, and Cara Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Maggie, Hollier, Henry, Lucas, Ian, Owen, Madeline, Grayson, Connor, Kaitlin and Jacob. Also, one great-grandchild on the way to be welcomed into the family.
Special thanks to Azalea Estates, for their care and concern for Mom. Also, appreciation to Peaceful Mind Home Care, especially Bennie and Mai.
She was a wonderful Mom to her children and an exceptional Mamaw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We love you, miss you, but know we will see you soon. Leave some fish for us.
