In 1969 Linda received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from UMD. She taught school in Virginia, Hopkins, and Rochester, MN. Linda resided in the Minneapolis area for 39 years. She was the co-owner of R.J. Branden Galleries Furniture in Edina. For 14 years she was a computer department supervisor for Old Country Buffet’s Corporate office and for 10 years was a Senior Consulting Software Instructor for Electronics for Imaging traveling extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad. In 2009 Linda married Phillip Powers, retired, and moved to Esko. Since moving to the area she worked part-time at the Scott Powers Farmers Insurance Agency and Atkins Northland Funeral Home. Linda was a passionate quilter donating many of her projects to worthy causes. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, sports (especially hockey), and was an avid reader (preferring her books over electronic devices). By far her greatest joy and blessing was her grandchildren.
Linda was preceded by her parents, Lenard and Ann Levar.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip; sons: Erik and Christopher Dargontina; stepchildren: Scott (Jennifer) Powers, and Christina Powers (Joshua Tocko); four grandchildren; brother, Lenard (Marcelle) Levar; Aunty Margret Swindlehurst; a nephew and many cousins.
Burial will be in Babbitt.
