Linda Lou (Thomas) Lawson, 80, of Indianola, died Friday, April 2, 2021 in McAlester.

Viewing will be from noon to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Bishop Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow at Crowder Cemetery.

Linda was born to Elige D. and Jesse Mae (Ellington) Thomas on May 28, 1940 in Crowder. She attended Crowder School.

Linda married Fred Lawson on May 28, 1957 in McAlester.

She was a homemaker, and helped Fred with the cattle and gardened on the family farm. Linda enjoyed growing flowers, feeding birds, and she loved to read. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda was a member of the Indianola Church of Christ.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Elige and Jesse Thomas; her husband: Fred Lawson on June 14, 2010; brother: L.C. "Buzz" Thomas; sisters: Ruthie Mae Lane, Margie Creager; an infant sister: Anna Merle Thomas; sister-in-law: Charlotte Dickinson; and brother-in-law: Vernon and Leona Lawson.

She is survived by her son: Steve Lawson and wife, Susan of Crowder; grandchildren: Kimberly Hart and husband, John of Kure, Japan, John Lawson and Tabitha of Indianola, Timothy Lawson and wife, Whitney of Dewar; great-grandchildren: Kate Hart, Hailey Whitlock, Alex Whitlock, Lily Hart, Maddix Lucero, Blakley Lawson, Gracyn Lawson, Josiah Lawson, Braxley Lawson; brothers-in-law: Bill Lawson and wife, Carol of Canadian, Vernon Dickinson of Shawnee; and several nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
