OTTAWA — Dixie Ryan Fleming, 77, of Ottawa, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 11, at home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica with her grandson, Joshua Yacko, conducting the services. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.

Dixie was born June 16, 1940, in La Salle, to Gerald “Tubby” and Irma (Hawley) Ryan.

She retired after 37 1/2 years from Libbey-Owens-Ford in Naplate.

Dixie enjoyed watching softball games, having breakfast at the Bee Hive in Ottawa, collecting butterfly knick-knacks and tending to her flowers.

Dixie is survived by one daughter, Vickie (Eric) Yacko, of Grand Ridge; three sons, Harry Patrick “Rick” Fleming Jr., Gerald Michael “Mick” Fleming and John Richard “Dick” Fleming, all of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Kristin Nicole (Cain) Damron, Michael Ryan (Katie) Fleming, Harry Patrick Fleming III, Joshua Yacko and Emily Yacko; one sister, Rebecca (Randy Kentzel) Ryan, of California; and two brothers, Patrick Ryan, of Tonica, and Tod Kent (Penny) Ryan, of Granville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Curtis Michael Ryan.
