Linda Gunter Mays, 71, of Amherst, died Monday, October 16, 2017 at The Carrington of Lynchburg.
Born in Lynchburg Va., January 9, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Helen McCormick and Sammy Gunter.
She is survived by four children; Michael E. Bryant and wife, Becky of Amherst, Roger Deel, Sr., of Madison Heights, Katrina Tucker and husband, Ronnie of Appomattox, and Teresa Douglass of Madison Heights; and one brother, Billy Gunter and wife, Peggy of Gladstone; two sisters, Beverly Adams and husband, Randy of Buckingham and Deborah Fielder of Concord; sister-in-law, Sharon Gunter of Buckingham; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leon Anthony Bryant, Jr.; a brother, Walker Gunter and a sister, Sylvia Cunningham.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday October 21, 2017 in Maple Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by the Rev. Harold Powers with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friend from 7 until 9 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mike and Becky Bryant.
