Patricia May Haar Paul, 82, of New Cumberland died from conditions related to cancer on Friday, October 13th, 2017, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp. with her children by her side.

Surviving are her three sons, Patrick E. of Salt Lake City, UT; Perry R. of Downingtown, PA; Preston J. of New Cumberland, PA; and a daughter, Pamela L. Reed of Dillsburg; one brother, Robert Haar of Allendale and six wonderful grandchildren.

Born May 20th, 1935, Patricia was the first-born child of the late Robert L Haar. and Mary Eva (Nesbit) Haar. Mrs. Paul graduated from West Shore High School, Lemoyne, PA, Class of 1953. From there Mrs. Paul worked her way through medical school attending the Polyclinic Nursing School, Lebanon Valley College, Maryland Medical Secretarial School, interning at Johns Hopkins and achieving her Masters in Nursing and Nursing Education at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Paul valued education, kindness and generosity above all else. She was the "Rock of the Block" in her New Cumberland neighborhood of 52 years and inspired a legacy that spanned her entire professional career that embraced and celebrated friendships maintained over decades.

Mrs. Paul was regarded by family and friends as the ultimate "working mom" who exemplified the integrity and standards of her chosen career path throughout her entire life, a true public servant of nursing and a devoted and never ceasing parent to her children. She was overheard saying from time to time, "I am my kids' Mom!" Like her husband, she felt her great accomplishment was her children contributing to the goodness in the world.
She was grace, dignity and kindness personified, a true and genuine example of our Savior.

A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, October 20th in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation will be from 11:30 am until time of services Friday.
A private Inurnment of her ashes will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery and will follow the service at 2:30PM. An open house will be occurring beginning at 4:30PM at her home.
