Tom was especially pleased that, despite his illness, he was able to attend the 50th Lincoln High School class reunion in September 2016, where he reconnected with many old friends and distributed flash drives of music of the sixties which he loved. His favorite bands were Chicago and Steely Dan, whose lead singer, Donald Fagen, he admired.
