Dennis Cole 74 years of age of Keen Mountain, VA, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 in the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. Born May 18, 1943 at Keen Mountain, VA he was the son of the late Marshall Cole and Fannie Marie Vandyke Cole.

Dennis was a retired Logger, former Forest Ranger for over thirty years and enjoyed hunting and ginseng.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters Lillie Cole, Nola Cole, Goldie Breeding and Lonna Griffith; six brothers, Dewey, Stuart, Clyde, Andrew, Luther and Hubard Cole.

He is survived by one brother Victor Cole of Pilgrims Knob, VA; several nieces and nephews including special nephew and caregiver Donnie R. Breeding and wife Lisha of Grundy VA.

Funeral services for Dennis Cole will be conducted Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel Keen Mountain, VA with Reverend Philip Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cole Cemetery, Keen Mountain, VA.

Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Keen Mountain, VA after 6:00 p.m. Monday, evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
