Clyde William Albea, Jr. 86, of Statesville, passed away, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home. Mr. Albea was born December 5, 1930 in Statesville, NC and was the son of the late Clyde William Albea and Lorene Kerr Albea. He attended Iredell County schools and on October 21, 1948 he enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1950. On November 3, 1950, he married the late Doris Jean Rary Albea, who passed away August 7, 2014. He worked for Southern Screw Company for 36 years as a Supervisor and also was a self-employed painter 20+ years with his best friends, Atwell Brown and Bobby Bell. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, church activities and spending time with his family.


Mr. Albea is survived by one son, William Curtis Albea and wife, Lori of Asheboro, NC; one daughter, Cyrette Albea Erutti and husband, Glenn of Eureka, MO; six grandchildren, Jonathan William Albea and wife, Kristine of Greensboro, NC, Michael James Albea of Raleigh, NC, Kristin Lauren Pearson, Alyson Nicole Erutti, Joanna Susan Erutti and Stephen Glenn Erutti all of St. Louis, MO and two great grandchildren, Christian Noah Albea and William Li-on Albea. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy A. Davidson and Marguerite A. Johnson.


Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Clyde William Albea, Jr.
