Lynn Snyder, age 72 of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on October 9, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 22, 1945, to the late Watson Decauter ‘Doc’ Snyder and Zola Mae White Snyder. In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by a brother, Scotty Snyder.

Lynn was a Vietnam War Veteran having served in the Army as Combat Medic.

Lynn loved living in the mountains and farming. He was a very loving and caring man. He was also a very giving and generous man who would give you the shirt off his back. His family was very important to him and his granddaughter, Shianti, was the light of his life.

He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and had also attended Roan Creek Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Angel Snyder; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Pat and Judy Snyder; grandchildren: Shianti Snyder and Cassie Scalf; nephew, Danny Snyder; great nephew, Scotty Snyder and several other family members.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Hankal officiating. Graveside service and interment with military honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park.
