In Memory of
Melissa Ann Brinker Fowler
March 28, 1959 - October 7, 2017
Obituary

Melissa Ann was born to Sharon and Doyen Brinker on March 28, 1959, at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, NM.

Melissa was the middle child with sister, Aquilla, being older and brother, Jim, being younger. Melissa was brought up as a military child moving with her father's assignments; his last assignment being in Lubbock, Texas where Melissa spent most of her adult years.

She was the mother of Christi Cheree and Sheri Ann and the grandmother (Nana) to Brenden.

On December 22 of 1995, she married Danny Fowler and moved to Abilene; spending many years and just returning two years ago to Lubbock.

Melissa was what is known as a "free spirit". She loved with her whole heart and experienced to the fullest extent everything that was led to her heart. She was an excellent homemaker and gardener. She was always outdoors working in her yard and garden. Anyone who knew her knows that she definitely was strong willed and worked through all things with that same tenacity. She was an avid shopper and antique lover. She was truly a person who lived her life to the fullest. Her sense of humor was always present although sometimes it wasn't always understood by others. She was one that always spoke her mind and stood up for her family members that she always loved.

All animals were fortunate if they came within her path. She rescued dogs and horses and nursed them all to health.

In the last few months Melissa had made peace with the Lord and knew she was a forgiven followerer.

Melissa is survived by her mother, Sharon Brinker of Lubbock; her sister, Aquilla Brock (Jack); brother, Jim Brinker (DeeDee); her daughter, Christi Cheree; grandson, Brenden; Danny Fowler; niece, Amanda Brock; nephews, Dustin Brock, (Darnell), Chance Brinker (Ashley), and Brik Brinker (Alli). She is pre-deceased by father, Doyen Brinker, and daughter Sheri Ann Brinker.

Online condolences may be offered on our website at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lubbock, TX.
